Draw This Again Meme 2 by airibbon Draw This Again Meme 2 by airibbon
Just like my previous Draw This Again Meme [link] I just redraw on top of the old one.

Differences between Kanna 2009 and 2011:
Kanna loosed weight over the years, added some extra shiny hair extension... and got tanned to. nyahaha... she had plastic surgery on her eyes and made it bigger, replaced her stubby finger with a longer graceful (visible) fingers. dumps her white dress for a brown one and got a smaller inner shirt. She's now using a running pose instead of a ballerina pose.

Just like Fumi, Kanna is copyrighted as well
Kanna can be found in Smack Jeeves.

Oh, I love this! Your ability to draw poses has really improved (as has your use of foreshortening and shading).

But what I really like here is how both pictures have this really fluid and airy and totally spontaneous feel. Hmmm, I'm not quite sure how to describe it -it's kind of je-ne-sais-quoi-ey XD -  but it's wonderful how you've been able to improve your technique without losing that element that makes your work so special.

I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but I like the old one better. Q_Q You did improve tremendously though. I guess it's just on the kind of style I like.

QUQ<33 Can't wait to see more.

Despite the other comments and my own bias against anime in general, I prefer the newer one! The eyes are placed more correctly on than before, and you've overcome what I like to call pointy-chin syndrome. You've also added much more depth with better shading and overlapping. :meow: You've improved quite a bit, and you have much potential! If you moved away from anime you could definitely become a fine artist!

pointy chin is an anime trademark, just like large shiny eyes and pointy hairs, so its still acceptable in most situation. im trying to bring back that pointy chin in my manga illustration ehe...

in my place, artists are not appreciated that much like Switzerland. so im cant make a living out of drawing, it can only be my part time work

I think I like the old one better, too. ^^; Sorry! Your anatomy and clothing has definitely improved, but I prefer the old style for the face. To me, it's cuter and shows off a really adorable and unique style. The newer face and eyes look more generic.

But nice work on both!

aha.. i like the old one to, what can be done if the world demands the current version... nyuuu... just like disneys cartoons, i like the old ones than the new one. the old ones are softer around the edges and the characters are sentimental and romantic, the newer are sharp, edgy, and the female characters have smaller waist, bigger heads and eyes, they play more energetic and loud roles.

The improvement is really well defined :> But I kind of like your style in drawing eyes from before. It looks much more unique than the generic anime-style eyes that people pick.

because people like the 2011 version of the eye, thats why people choose to draw that one more. 2009 eyes were once popular, but it is slowly forgotten now, so everyone has to move on

I feel like the first one has your personality in it. It is very original because not everyone draws like that. Whereas the second one is almost like a typical anime style. Also the first one has more flow to the gesture and the second one seems a bit too stiff.

The second did show a lot of improvement. Maybe you should try fusing the first and second together?
